an unverifiable and unfalsifiable narrative explanation for a cultural practice, a biological trait, or behavior of humans or other animals. The pejorative nature of the expression is an implicit criticism that reminds the hearer of the essentially fictional and unprovable nature of such an explanation.Obviously, this is precisely the sort of thing we want with grammar explanations, and so this blog is going to concentrate on some 'just-so' stories to explain grammar points. I'll be sharing some of these stories that I have used to explain grammar points to Japanese students. I make no claim that they are true, the only claim I make is that they are memorable and they have helped some students.
I will try and cross post these to the PIGATE blog. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments!
